Ground Zero Survival was founded out of necessity, when our Chicago offices were struck by lightning over 10 years ago. Our building was not properly wired and this single lightning strike caused a series of power surges that fried or crashed every electronic item in the building. As an IT firm, constant access to our computers, customer data, and web sites was absolutely essential. Our backup drives were all out of date and were also affected, because they were stored in the same building. Our business was completely shut down and we were virtually helpless.
We contacted several "disaster recovery" companies, only to find several individuals claiming to be experts, but in reality, had less experience than our own staff in these matters. Not one of the available companies had the experience or knowledge to be trusted with this task.
Upon realizing this, we called upon our own staff to work together and revive our systems and data as quickly as possible. Within two days, our owners and employees had worked together and completely restored 90% of our data and all our phone, network, and computer systems were functioning as normal.
Today, in addition to all our traditional IT and programming services, we also specialize in data recovery, disaster planning, and on site disaster recovery.
